THE END OF 7 ON SIXTH
NY FASHION WEEK IS MOVING

The first year NY Fashion Week was held in Bryant Park (also known as 7 on Sixth), the event was referred to as a “Fashion Circus” and a fabulous circus it was! Well no more, it has been confirmed by Mayor, Bloomberg that NYC Fashion Week has found a new home in Lincoln Center.

"We were determined to work with the Council of Fashion Designers of America and IMG Fashion to identify a location for Fashion Week that would allow it to grow and thrive in New York City, and we could not have arrived at more ideal location than Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center."

Thankfully, we have been given a transition period. Lincoln Center will make its debut in fall of 2010.

SAKS IS STACKING DESIGNERS LITERALLY

The current economic situation is affecting much if not all of the retail world. In these times retail stores need to become creative. Saks Fifth Avenue enlisted the help of fashion designers for the evening February 5th to promote “a new contemporary space in its New York flagship store . . . the best possible sales team is hitting the floor--the designers themselves. To celebrate the new 3,600-square foot space, designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright from Rag & Bone, Nicole and Michael Colovos from Helmut Lang, Geren Ford, John Patrick from Organic, Trish Wescoat Pound from Haute Hippie, Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava, Rachel Comey, Aimee Cho from Gryphon, and Hanii Yoon from Hanii Y (most of whom are new to Saks!) will all be on hand.”
