Taming Trends

Trends are sometimes difficult to wear due to our different body shapes, tricky cuts and colors. Personalizing trends is one way to have them work FOR you and not against you for example: the nautical strips.

1. Look for a cut that works for your own body. V-necks are elongating & also break-up a broad chest. A boatneck t-shirt will balance a wider hip (be sure that it does not fall past the top of your hip). Scoop neck shirts enhance a bust line while sleeveless & halter tops showcase great arms & shoulders.

2. Add your individual touch. Couple the trend with your favorite accessory. The above Target shirt for $12.99 is shown here with white, cut coral necklace for $10 (a fabulous consignment store find). Worried about the horizontal lines widening your top half, offset it by throwing on a long necklace or solid color scarf.

Don't be scared of trends, tame them!
